If You Held Me

If you held me in your arms,
Would my tears
Flow through your veins
Like a life sustaining blood?
Would your heart
Beat a little faster,
Knowing the taste of my pain
And the sound of my joy, alive?

If you held me in your arms,
Would my words
Grow inside your heart,
Like precious pearls
Forming inside seashells,
Washed away
On eternity's invisible shore?

If you held me in your heart,
Would the world
Start turning upside down?
Would the trees embrace you,
As your steps walk the sky?

If you held me in your mind,
Would your thoughts
Become mine,
In forms and shapes
Untouched, undiscovered,
Apart from this world, undone?

Would you hold me?
Would you begin
Where I end,
With a question mark?
